Welcome to Lifesavers Northumberland and Durham
Lifesavers is the UK's leading drowning prevention organisation and the UK governing body for Lifesaving and Lifeguarding.
The Society was founded in 1891, with the Northumberland and Durham Branch being formed in the 1940s. As one of the Society's 50 branches, we have over 300 members and 30 active lifesaving and lifeguarding groups.
There are many ways you can become involved as a lifesaver. This can range from learning new skills which you could use to save a life, becoming
a member and participating in a wide range of exciting and rewarding activities, getting a recognised professional lifeguarding qualification or you can make
a donation to help us provide lifesaving information and training for young and old alike.
